This resource contains a power point with a starter activity, information on theorists & plenary activity. It explains the main activity however does not contain the worksheet. If needed that is available on my store also or as part of the ‘motivational theories’ bundle. I hope you find this resource useful.

This lesson looks at different barriers to communication and the advantages and disadvantages of different messages of communication. It also discusses how there can be problems with the sender/method of communication. Included: Bell ringer, starter, plenary within PPT. Main activity worksheet. (Full lesson) Hope this helps someone. Please leave (constructive) feedback if so. Thanks.
Agenda, minutes and stakeholders

Agenda, minutes and stakeholders

(0)
This lesson gets students to discuss what an ‘agenda’ is, and then they have to create one together acting as different stakeholders. The roles are not included in this PPT, however I previously got students to base their activity around the potential opening of an airport. I have added in a video clip that interviews local residents, this could be used to brainstorm the different stakeholders in this situation before planning out the agenda and conducting the meeting (each student acting as a stakeholder in the scenario). Included: PPT Main activity Starter Youtube stakeholder clip

Leadership Styles Lesson

Leadership Styles Lesson

(0)
This lesson is designed around the iGCSE Business Studies curriculum (Cambridge) however could easily be used for other exam boards. This lesson focuses on Laissez-faire, autocratic, and democratic leadership styles. There is a printable starter and main activity included. Included: PPT (with bell ringer & plenary included) Starter Main Activity *Because of copyright issues I have not included examples of real world ‘leaders’ however I would recommend doing so to contextualize the issue for students.

2.2.2 - The role and function of management. PPT (with bell ringer and plenary) Printable starter Printable main activity
2.2.1 Organisational Charts

2.2.1 Organisational Charts

PowerPoint (with bell ringer, starter, & plenary). separate worksheet for main activity included. This is quite an ‘active’ lesson and involves students moving around the school to interview members of staff. It could be tailored differently but I’ve found students in the past enjoy it if you can add a competition element to it (who can accurately draw the schools organisational chart first). *Ideally you need to print off a few extra sheets to complete the first activity. However, these points could be discussed (teacher led) as appose to students moving around the room, if this isn’t possible.
2.2.4 Trade Unions

2.2.4 Trade Unions

(0)
This lesson is focused around what a Trade Union is, alongside the benefits and limitations for the employee and the employer. This lesson is best completed on a computer, however if you have five minutes to print some quick articles about Trade Unions it could easily be completed in the classroom. The aim of the lesson is for students to create their own research/writing on Unionism and then to record it and print a character with a QR code (which could be presented in a subsequent lesson. I have added notes onto some of the slides also for extra clarity. Included: PPT (with bell ringer, starter, main activity and plenary questions) Printable bell ringer
2.3.2 - The importance of training and methods of training

2.3.2 - The importance of training and methods of training

(0)
Included: PPT (with starter, main activity, with advantages and disadvantages of training methods included). Printable bell-ringer, main activity, and plenary. *I haven’t included 1 worksheet for the ‘on the job training’ activity, however you simply need to print an ‘envelope oragami’ from the internet. I couldn’t include this due to copyright. Hope that helps.
2.3.4 Legal controls over employment issues

2.3.4 Legal controls over employment issues

2.3.4 Legal controls over employment issues. Included: PPT (with bell ringer, starter, main activity & exam questions included). Printable QR codes to be used for plenary activity. *This lesson requires students to conduct research on the internet and then present their findings, therefore I would recommend teaching it over two lessons.
Operations Management Multi-Use Resource

Operations Management Multi-Use Resource

I have created this resource to coincide with teaching Operations Management. There are twenty printable slides with the terminology printed separately to the corresponding definition. This is a multi-use resource that could be displayed around the classroom, or as a starter/plenary (get students to choose one of the words without looking and then write the correct definition). This could also be useful when revising with students and supporting them in being able to answer one/two mark definition questions. Definitions included: Fixed costs Variable costs Invention Innovation Break-even analysis Productivity Production Quality Operations management Margin of safety
